Family
Constellations, an experiential group therapeutic process,
can support resolution and healing of recurring patterns in
our lives by helping us open to the flow of our ancestors'
love for us. Participants are chosen to represent a
particular focus person's family members; the configuration
they form is known as a "family constellation"
(metaphorically referring to the way a larger system emerges
from relationships between separate individuals just as a
picture can be drawn between stars). This process can also
be done with other systems besides families (such as
organizations, the natural world, or larger collective
systems) and thus, is also known in its broadest sense as
Systemic Constellations.
In
a Family Constellation, the representatives for various
family members feel emotions and get information about the
relationships in that family, elucidating its past and
present dynamics. The facilitator then guides a timeless
shifting of these family dynamics through the generations so
that the focus person is able to experience – in a new way,
on a bodily and emotional level – the nurturing support
of the universe's divine feminine and masculine love for us
through our mother, father, and "all my relations."
This
workshop will have time for most full weekend participants
to experience a Family Constellation as focus
person (first-come, first-served and based on intuition of
the facilitator) but will provide (optional) opportunities
for everyone to participate as representatives in others'
constellations - often a beautifully healing experience in
itself. Whether as focus person, representative in
constellations, or simply as an observer, Family
Constellations evokes a saying by original hypnotist Milton
Erickson: "It's never too late to have a happy childhood."
About
the facilitator: Mark A. Johnson primarily trained in
constellation work with Dietrich Weth of Frankfurt, Germany.
He has also studied with many of the leading European
trainers. Mark is a Seattle-based Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist in private practice. The founder and
director of the Seattle Constellations Institute, Mark has
been teaching and facilitating this work throughout the U.S.
since 2003, including facilitating constellations for tribal
members of the Muckleshoot and Lakota Nations as well as for
Australian Aboriginal Elders and Indigenous Māori of New
Zealand.
Ürbāh's
personal note: I've done more constellations workshops with
Mark than any other facilitator and I'm thrilled to
contribute to sharing the beauty, intuition, and refinement
of his work with you!
Attendance
at the Full Weekend Workshop is limited to 30 participants.

Upon
registration I will send you detailed directions to the
workshop site at GaiaYoga Gardens if you don't already know
our location. The
Friday Night
Free Demo is also the beginning of the weekend workshop
- please plan to arrive by 5 PM Friday so we can promptly
start. Please plan to arrive by 9 AM on Saturday and Sunday to
allow time to settle in and finalize registration as the
workshop will begin promptly at 9:30. Bring your own lunch on
Saturday and Sunday; we'll provide raw food to share during
breaks. This workshop requires the full focus and attention of
each participant, so I ask that participating parents and pet
owners find reliable childcare and pet care during the
workshop so that we will not be interrupted except in an
emergency.
