Come enjoy this free community event!

o Exchange and give away localized seeds

o Swap growing information

o Meet your neighbors, other eco-growers & innovative thinkers

o Let people know about your current projects and groups related to permaculture and gardening by setting up an information table

Bring Seeds, plants, cuttings, or keiki etc,
Be sure to clear all plants of fire ants first.
Bringing seeds is not required.
Bring items to give away only, not sell.

Although you can give out information about your business.

Consider doing a short presentation about your project or farm, or how to grow certain foods, or deal with certain pests. You can apply to do a presentation Here.

Schedule:   

9:30 am: Set up 

10 am: Opening Circle and Land Blessings

10:30-12:00: Seed Swap (bring your own tables and chairs to give seeds away or do an information table, and scrap paper for small packets for seeds)

12- 1 pm: Tour of La’akea Community land, gardens and buildings

1 pm:  Imu Opening (Pit Bake) We will open the firepit and enjoy roots, veggies and meats that have cooked overnight, and explain the process.

1:30 pm to 3 pm:  Potluck, please bring your favorite local food dishes! (Also bring your own dishes and silverware)

And….. Presentations!

3:30-4 pm:  Closing Circle

On Hwy 130 between mile markers 14 & 15, turn mauka on Ala’ili Rd, turn right onto our driveway at the La’akea sign
(13-3844 Alaili Rd, Pahoa), and park in the first lot, or along Alaili road. 
Walk to follow the signs to the Meadow Space.
